You might be the person everyone leans on: the steady one, the capable one, the one who always figures it out. But something has shifted. Maybe it's a loss you didn't expect, a child whose needs stretch you beyond what you knew, or a season of life that just feels heavier than it should. If you're looking for someone steady enough to lean on while you figure this out, I'm here.
My Story & Approach
Hi there! I'm Jolene Siemens (she/her), a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP), fully registered since 2019. Over more than 25 years, I've had the privilege of supporting children and families, first as a teacher and behaviour strategist, then as a learning support teacher, and now as a psychologist. I hold a Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan (1996), a Montessori Training Diploma from St. Nicholas College (2002), and a Master of Counselling from the Campus Alberta Applied Psychology (2008).
I'm a prairie girl at heart and often head back to Saskatchewan to reconnect with wide open skies and my roots. That prairie grounding, resilience, humility, and genuine care for people influences how I show up in the therapy room: steady, down-to-earth, and relational. On Saturdays, we provide respite care for an autistic boy who has become part of our family. That relationship keeps my work grounded in lived experience, reminding me that patience, humour, connection, and consistency matter deeply.
I provide counselling for adults and seniors at OBP's Airdrie and Calgary locations, including outdoor walk-and-talk sessions, virtual therapy throughout Alberta, and therapy intensives for those ready to do deeper work in a concentrated format. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and mindfulness-based practices. As a Certified Grief Educator through David Kessler's training, I bring specialized support for those navigating grief and loss.
If you're navigating anxiety, grief, stress, trauma, postpartum challenges, parenting transitions, or attachment patterns, I'll meet you where you are without judgement or pressure. I am not simply an observer in this work. I am a fellow traveller. I truly look forward to meeting you.
