Helping Young Minds Through Movement
Many children and teens struggle to sit still and talk through complex emotions. At OBP Psychology, we offer outdoor and movement-based counselling that helps kids open up while walking, painting, playing games, or drawing. Movement allows young bodies to regulate, reflect, and connect, all while being supported by a compassionate therapist.
Most our therapists have backgrounds in teaching and behavioural intervention. This means we know how to meet kids where they’re at, with flexible approaches that make therapy feel natural, not forced.
Whether your child needs a place to build confidence, process emotions, or develop self-awareness, our youth therapists walk alongside them (sometimes literally) as they grow. We offer movement sessions in Cochrane, Airdrie, and Calgary, because every child is wired uniquely.
What Outdoor Therapy Might Look Like
Walking and talking through emotions on a trail or sidewalk
Playing basketball or disc gold while working on relationships or coping skills
Drawing or using tactile tools to explore thoughts and feelings
Adjusting the pace of sessions, whether sitting on a bench or heading out on the paths, based on your child's comfort level
Every session is shaped by your child's strengths and needs.
Connect In A Way That Feels Right
We offer a 10-minute call, email exchange, or direct booking, whichever feels best. This first step is about finding the right fit, with no pressure to continue if it doesn't feel aligned.
How It Works
To book your own appointment online at our Airdrie, Cochrane, or Calgary office, visit our online scheduler HERE.
To get started via an email exchange or 10-minute phone call, fill out our contact form below.
You can choose if you want sessions for your child to be in-office, online, or outdoors.
In your first session, we’ll meet with you and your child to get to know who you are and what matters most to your family. Together, we’ll co-create a plan that supports your goals, using tools and approaches that feel meaningful and effective.
