You feel like everyone else has it figured out and you're just... faking it. Maybe you've never had space to show up as you actually are, without performing, masking, or explaining yourself. If you've been wondering whether therapy is for people like you, it is. And you don't have to come in polished. We'll figure out the pace together.

My Story & Approach

Hi, I'm Tashia. I'm joining Off the Beaten Path Psychology and Wellness beginning July 2026 as a Masters Intern, working from Nauton House in Airdrie while I complete my graduate training in School and Applied Child Psychology at the Werklund School of Education, University of Calgary. My clinical work is supervised by Kristy McConnell, R. Psych., Clinical Adjunct Professor at the University of Calgary.

I've been part of Rocky View Schools since 2009, working as an Educational Assistant, then as a Success Coach, and currently as a Child Development Advisor. That's over 15 years grounded in what kids and families actually navigate, in classrooms, in hallways, and at the kitchen table. I bring this lens with me into assessment and counselling, and I love that I get to do this work in the community I've been part of all along.

A lot of the people I sit with feel like everyone else got an instruction manual that somehow missed their mailbox. Whether you're trying to do "life-ing" right, "mom-ing" right, or even "teen-ing" right, I'd like to be in your corner. You don't have to walk in polished or sure of yourself. You just have to walk in.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in a relational and realistic lens. That last word matters to me. Therapy doesn't have to look like a performance, and it doesn't have to be heavy lifting all the time either. We get to be human together. I want sessions to feel like a place where you don't have to mask, translate, or explain yourself to be understood.

If you're nervous about reaching out, same. I'm a little nervous at every first session too, in the very human way that I want to get this right for the person sitting across from me. We can be nervous together for the first ten minutes, and then we can begin.
