You've been the strong one: showing up, pushing through, keeping it together. But something isn't sitting right anymore. Maybe it's a frustration you can't shake, a pressure to perform that's lost its purpose, or a quiet sense that you're not living the way you actually want to. If you're looking for someone who will meet you as an equal and work alongside you without judgment, this is that space.
My Story & Approach
Hi there, my name is Jamie Wilkinson (he/him/his) and I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP, #P8813). As a Registered Provisional Psychologist, I practice under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist, meeting all requirements set by CAP. I hold a Masters of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle (2025), completing my practicum placement at Foothills Academy; a private school for youth and adolescents with learning disabilities. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Mount Royal University (2022).
I take an egalitarian approach with my clients, as I believe the therapeutic relationship needs to be based on respect, trust, and integrity to provide meaningful change. I also use a trauma-informed lens, along with evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy (NT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Sport Psychology, and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), tailoring our work to your therapeutic goals and unique experiences. I provide counselling services for children, youth, and adults as well as psychoeducational assessments for children and youth at OBP's Nauton House location in Airdrie, with outdoor walk-and-talk sessions and virtual sessions also available.
I am interested in treating clients with various presenting issues such as, self-worth, relationship challenges, anger, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, loss and grief, life transitions, and clarifying values or purpose. I have a special interest in helping clients with sport performance goals and male specific issues. I am also affirming and welcoming to people of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my family and doing activities that keep me active and outdoors such as running, biking, swimming, skiing, camping, hiking, and canoeing.
*Please let me know if you require accessibility accommodations as my main office is located up a set of stairs.
